Canon Abilities:

● God of Creation - Granted partial godhood from his mother’s side, Ace has the powers of creation and essentially wish granting thanks to his awakening inhuman half. He recently lost his physical life and turned fully into a creation deity, giving him enhanced powers at the cost of his humanity. Although these abilities are god tier, they are tied directly to the faith and trust of those that identify as his friends and followers, so most are extremely limited to his own physical space or dependent on the wishes of someone else and their belief in him. He can only change as much as those close to him believe he can, and he’s been shown to still be susceptible to injuries, restraints, exhaustion, etc without the support of others’ willpower. Because he’s a new god, he’s also still navigating his limits and nature as an inhuman being. His divine powers primarily center around reality manipulation and divine senses.

▫ Reality-warping. He can manipulate physical material, destroying or creating objects, buildings, or other items to suit his needs. An example of this would be summoning drivers to allow himself or others transform and gain powers, or creating platforms out of the air to use in battle. If pushed, he can even reset the world to enact large scale changes, basically like bringing the world back to a certain last save point to restore lost people or change events. He can also sense others with similar abilities and can detect changes in his world’s scope. He is immune to time manipulation since he exists outside of a physical time frame, letting him at least partially resist other reality-warping changes. Much of his scope for this depends on the power of belief, meaning he needs to gather the belief of others to bolster greater changes and drains himself quite a bit if he's relying on his own willpower as fuel.

▫ Divine senses. Ace can feel the desires of those around him, especially very strong wishes and the wishes of people in close physical proximity to him. This sense can reach across physical distance to anyone within his world to allow him to answer the prayers of many different people, but is especially strong for those with a close connection to him. He can also sense the lack of desire in others or if people are pursuing things that won’t make them happy, separating excuses or alternative goals from their “true” wish. Within his own world, he can also hear and see events beyond his physical location, giving him divine knowledge of the world so he can properly respond to desires.

● Indomitable Will - Although Ace is somewhat sensitive to the wishes and wills of those around him, he’s able to keep his own personality and goals because of his stubborn human willpower. This lets him keep conscious control of himself and his actions despite being a god of creation that is essentially called to answer prayers. While he was human, this stubbornness even surpassed death and let him reincarnate many times over to search for his missing mother.

● Kamen Rider - Ace has the ability to use a desire driver to transform into a Kamen Rider form. When transformed he is fully armored and given enhanced strength and physical abilities, as well as able to summon weapons and extra abilities based around interchangeable raise buckles that he can combine with his driver. He primarily defaults to a form that uses a gun and motorcycle themed combination, focusing on speed and ranged attacks.

● Skills - Outside of transformation, Ace has gained experience from reincarnating into new lives for 2,000 years, giving him a strong tactical sense and the ability to adapt to surprises on his feet. He’s an expert marksman and capable physical fighter even unarmed, and often draws on his long life experience and historical knowledge to play tricks on people or overcome challenges.

1. Has your character always believed in magic? Do they have something influencing their perspective on the supernatural/metaphysical/spiritual from their past? How do they feel about magic?

Ace has believed in magic over the course of multiple lifetimes. Since his mother was taken from him as a child, he searched for her for the rest of his life and was able to regain his memories thanks to magic inherited through a coin left behind by his father. This led him to participate in the Desire Grand Prix, competing in reality-manipulating games in order to have his wish of finding his mother granted. This experience taught him that not only is magic and supernatural power real, but that it can be abused and commodified by systems and people in order to control others. The organizers of the Desire Grand Prix used the wishes and dreams of some people to fuel their own desires and gain entertainment from the suffering of contestants, rationing the potential for people's wishes to be granted to provide a show for their own audience members. He tends to view powers as a means to an end or just another tool, valuing human will and motivations over abilities or raw power, since abilities can be directed for good and bad results. His time repeatedly entering the games also taught him the concrete limits to magic, and that choosing goals carefully can often make more of a difference than simply having unlimited resources or abilities. He doesn’t look at magic as a cure-all or quick answer, and tends to like working things out directly over taking a magical way out of problems.


2. What mythological creature would your character most like to be? Which do they identify with? Which would they dread being? Feel free to use our Bestiary for reference.

Ace identifies strongly with fox spirits. Primarily kitsune since he’s Japanese, but fox spirits overall. He’s crafty and often uses charm and flirtation to get his way, and is a self-proclaimed trickster who is shameless about manipulating those around him to gain an advantage. While he does fight, he doesn’t like heavily relying on brute strength, and he takes a lot of pride in being adaptable in any situation. He'd rather outsmart his opponents than resort to excessive violence, and even when he's not fighting, he can't resist teasing people around him for fun. His Rider transformation form is fox themed, even being able to turn into an armored-fox form on occasion.

Conversely, he would hate being either a gnome or likely a cerberus, as he has an aversion to bullies and taking advantage of weaker people, and would probably see a dog-themed creature as too subservient for his taste. He particularly rebels against restraints and restrictions, so being a creature that has more limited boundaries or is chained up physically or spiritually would frustrate him. He’s also fond of showing off and somewhat vain, so being ugly inside or outside would put personally injure his pride.


3. What is your character's most outstanding personality trait, and why?

Above all else, Ace is willful. It’s both his strongest driving trait and often gets him into the most trouble. His refusal to forget his mother is what originally sets him on the path to repeatedly reincarnate and participate in the Desire Grand Prix, and it’s what allows him to use his wishes to essentially bless future versions of himself with advantages in the games after he loses a life. When he’s transforming into a full god, his human will and desire to protect the world keeps him from converting into a god without any personal will of his own and to keep control of his abilities. No matter how bad things get, Ace's defining trait is that he's an "fight against all odds" stubborn little shit.

However, it’s Ace's stubborn attitude that led him to risk being converted into a god devoid of will in the first place. He takes on the mantle to gain the power to save his friends and to remove the burden from Tsumuri so she can live a more normal life without being used. He’s shown repeatedly pushing himself past his own limits to the point of collapse or severe injury because he simply refuses to give up or compromise on his goals. It’s also that self-focused will that ultimately causes him to sacrifice his own human existence for godhood, choosing the ability to protect the world and give others a chance at earning their happiness fairly over his own normal life and normal connections to the people he cares for. Ace will go through any lengths to achieve a seemingly impossible happy ending, and often it prompts him to risk his own well-being to do it.


4. Your character gets to return home, but when they do they learn that they've been gone for hundreds of years. How do they react?

Initially, Ace would be angry at being taken away from the world when he knows they need him. He puts high priority on making sure he can answer prayers and protecting people’s opportunity at chasing their personal goals. Being unable to protect what he views as his people would upset him, and depending on how far the world went in a bad direction, it could potentially cause him an emotional breakdown. He's stubborn, proud, and highly protective of others, so he takes the pain of those around him on as his own failing that he needs to resolve.

Ace is also a sore loser who takes his failures as motivation to keep pushing toward victory. He’d throw himself into repairing any damage and making sure his friends were safe, probably pouring his power and effort into undoing the problems that might have developed over that much time, up to and including going back in time to reset the world if he felt the deterioration was that extensive. If he came back to a world that was still primarily happy, he would mostly make sure the system was still fair and he could provide everyone a pathway to achieving happiness with less direct interference, but it would depend a lot on how well everyone was doing overall in his absence.
